Keyword monitoring
Check that a page contains — or does not contain — specific text. A page returning 200 with a stack trace on it is down, whatever the status code says.
Status codes lie. A misconfigured error page, a cached shell with no content, a
framework exception rendered inside a normal template: all 200 OK.
Two rules
- Must contain — the text that proves the page really rendered, such as a product name or an "Add to cart" button.
- Must not contain — "Exception", "Database error", "Under construction".
